.A brief report on proceedings in the Kerry SHC last night at Austin Stack Park from Mike O’Halloran…
Ballyheigue GAA 0-18
Lixnaw GAA 0-14
Ballyheigue are through to the quarter-finals of the Kerry hurling championship after a well deserved win over Lixnaw.
The first half was fairly even with the score at halftime Ballyheigue 0-09 Lixnaw 0-07, Ballyheigue had also squandered two goal chances as well as having five wides.
Lixnaw were level within five minutes of the second half, but by the 56th minute they led 0-17 to 0-10 having scores seven points in a row — Philip Lucid with three, Nathan Guiren, David O’Sullivan, Felim O’Sullivan and Ciaran Casey with one each.
The next three points were for Lixnaw but they could not bridge the gap as they had no penetration from their inside line all day. Lixnaw must be disappointed especially after their impressive outing in their last game.
So Ballyheigue march on.
