RESIDENTS in Cluain Ard, Ballyvelly, came out in force this week to show their support for the Kerry ladies team and specifically, their neighbour Declan Quill.
The joint-manager of the team lives in the estate and the residents got together to put up two signs in support of the ladies and Declan this Sunday.
They gathered, wearing the green and gold, in front of the signs earlier this week and asked Declan to come down to view their gesture ahead of the game.

“Thanks to Olive Heaphy for organising it. It’s great to see the kids out in their Kerry colours and looking forward to the game,” said Declan, who appreciates all the support and encouragement the team has received from the Kerry public since the semi-final win.
“We had an open day on Sunday after the training session and it was brilliant to see so many kids there, some even came on buses from all parts of the county. It gives the girls a big lift to see all these signs and the bunting going up. We hope to see a good Kerry crowd at the game on Sunday,” added Declan.
Meanwhile, Tralee Municipal District councillors voiced their support for the team at their meeting on Tuesday.
The Council has also erected flags in the town centre while many other businesses are displaying the colours ahead of Sunday’s showdown with Galway.
