THE efforts of a Tralee woman have helped out two local organisations who do great work for the community.

Sharon Roche held a fundraising headshave at Pearse Park on September 10 to help out the Open Arms Kerry project and to remember her son Seán who died 10 years ago.

She raised over €4,000 for the community initiative in the area of mental health. OAK is a volunteer led service whose aim is to help those in crisis.

Sharon and the good folk at Open Arms Kerry have decided give €500 to the Phoenix Women’s Centre, whose representatives gratefully accepted the funds at the Meadowlands Hotel on Tuesday and thanked them for the donation.

The funds will be used for mental wellness projects for women contacting the centre. The Phoenix Women’s Centre is based at Market Place, Main Street, Tralee. It is a not for profit support service for women in Kerry.  You can support the centre by clicking here.
