ANOTHER wonderful Christmas treat for music lovers is on the way this Saturday, December 9, when ‘Sounds Of The Season’ comes to the INEC in Killarney.

This Christmas concert features world famous countertenor Nils Wanderer and internationally acclaimed soprano Dr Sharon Lyons accompanied by Kerry Scotia Ensemble, Kerry’s only professional string orchestra.

The concert will span genres and include much loved seasonal classics as O Holy Night, White Christmas, Do You Hear What I Hear, Walking in the Air, Sleigh Ride, excerpts from Hansel’s Messiah, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and much more. Nils Wanderer is one of the world’s top countertenors and was recently the Second Prize Winner of the world’s most prestigious opera competition “Operalia” in 2022 of which he was the only Countertenor.

He has collaborated with orchestras and appeared in operas and festivals all over Europe. Dr Sharon Lyons, is an internationally renowned and award-winning soprano has performed on national and international stages as both a soloist and ensemble member.

Kerry Scotia Ensemble is Kerry’s only professional string orchestra and was set up in 2016 with the assistance of an Arts Act Grant from Kerry County Council.

The orchestra has received multiple awards of local and national grants and is a solid fixture of the classical music scene in Kerry having partnered with multiple performers across a range of genres over the years.
