THE newly refurbished Charlie’s Bar and Bistro at Kerins O’Rahillys opened during the summer under local family Mags and Seán Kissane, but now a new cafe, open during the day, is another welcome addition to the clubhouse.
Charlie’s Cafe (located in the function room to the right of Charlie’s Bar) is opened from 9am-4pm daily, Monday to Friday, serving teas, coffees, pastries, soup, sandwiches and light bites, as well as lunch specials.
Some of their specialities include a fruit yogurt granola tower; poached egg with smashed avocado on sourdough bread; crispy bacon, egg, brie, ciabatta with red onion relish and more.

With scones, fresh fruit granola bowl, American-style pancakes and eggs and toast, it’s a great place to stop in for breakfast.
The bar food will continue Thursday through to Sunday from 1pm-8pm in Charlie’s Bar, whilst also serving up delicious pints and excellent wines daily,

Mags tells us; “I am delighted to welcome you all to join us at Charlie’s. We have something for everyone — plenty of free parking, good food, and a child friendly family atmosphere in a clubhouse which is the heart of the community in Strand Road.”
“It’s so important to have a place where people can socialise day and night so whatever your choice — that early morning coffee or a Saturday night pint — we at Charlie’s provide this.”
Mags said they have great entertainment at weekends and if you’re having that family celebration or thinking about booking a Christmas party, Mags and Sean will sort you out.

Congratulations to Mags & Sean. They have a great restaurant in the Wetlands so now another one. Will visit.
