U11 Boys
Well done to our u11’s who represented their club and county today in the Munster Blitz held in Pàirc Ui Chaoimh. They faced stiff opposition from teams from Waterford, Tipperary & Cork and were victorious in all 3 games playing some excellent football.

U12 Girls
Our U12 Girls against Beale did not go ahead as scheduled. We have been invited to take part in the Munster U12 Blitz in Cordal on the 8th of August beginning at 10am.

U14 Boys
Our U14 played against strong Castleisland Desmonds last Tuesday evening, with great teamwork and effort shown throughout the match. The opposition proved too strong and clench the win.
Our next match is against Annascaul/Lispole on Tuesday 4th of August at 7pmin Annascaul GAA.

U17
Our U16’s hosted Keel in the Div.8 Semi-final of the County League last Thursday evening. A game where the momentum swung in the favour of either side throughout the contest saw great individual scores and team football come to the fore.

Close opening exchanges which saw both teams going at it. Ethan Harrington nailed a 2 pointer from the right-hand side and Conor Galvin’s frees kept the opposition on their toes. Keel scored 2 goals in quick succession shortly before the half time break and took control of the game at the stage.

Some vital defensive interceptions from Luke Dowd, Tommy Costello and Rylan Flynn stopped what could have been game over.

Having been 8 points down at halftime a rallying performance the lads saw us draw level with Keel after the third quarter.

Joint captain Jake Kelly produced a fantastic display of tackling in 1v1 situations, and time and time again started our attacks.

Padraig O’Connor’s buried his shot in the bottom corner and the introduction of U14 Darragh Sheehan sparked the game having turned his man over and calmly taking his score. Conor Galvin and Darragh again tagged on scores to level it.

The saying goes ‘Goals Win Games’ and where we let opportunities pass us Keel counter attacked and put two in quick succession yet again. Not to be outdone, scores from Conor,

Padraig and Shane Veale brought the game to a single kick of the ball with 5minutes remaining. Unfortunately, in our efforts to draw level Keel’s goalkeeper came up with 3 miraculous saves and their commanding midfielders brought vital scores when they needed it most. Hard luck to the lads who put on a fine display of football. Well Done to Keel in their win.

St. Pat’s/Castle 1-15 Keel 6-10

Seniors
Our seniors made the drive down to Cromane last Saturday evening to play Waterville. Both teams were eager to take a win away, but it was the opposition of clenched the win.

Waterville put the first two points on the board Brian Murphy opened St Pats scoring with a point it was quickly added to Waterville point.

Fergal O’Brien with his point and David O’Callaghan quick to add his own point also. Two points from Waterville kept the scoring back and forth.

Darragh Murphy put another point on St Pats score sheet, a free for Fergal O’Brien putting the ball over the bar. With another point from Brian Murphy kept St Pats scores moving. Half Time Score St Pats 0-06 Waterville 0-05

A free at the beginning of the second half converted into a point by Fergal O’Brien again after two minutes another free allowed Fergal O’Brien once more to get another point. Waterville got two points from frees and one point from play.

Fergal O’Brien pointed the ball over the bar with another free given, Waterville with another point and three points from Eoin Greaney two points and Joe O’Connor a point. A penalty awarded to St Pats scored by Fergal O’Brien drew cheers from the stand and sideline.

Waterville scored another point and achieved a goal in the dying minutes of the second half which clenched the win for them. One more point from Hayden Fitzgerald with two two pointers for Waterville.

This was fast paced throughout the entire game, physical at times but despite everything our seniors kept their heads and continued until the final whistle. Full-Time St Pats 1-13 Waterville 1-14
