HOLY Family NS will mark the major milestone of its 50th anniversary with a special day of celebrations at the school on this Sunday, June 14…the highlight being the conclusion of a special draw for a brand new car or €30,000!
The event promises to be a memorable occasion for past and present students, families, staff and the wider community with a full programme of fun activities planned on the school grounds.
“The day is designed to bring generations together to celebrate five decades of education, friendship and community spirit. Our current pupils are taking on a superb leadership role in helping with the organisation of the day and are excited to showcase our school to past generations of pupils and staff”, said school principal Maria O’Regan.

One of the highlights of the celebrations will be a unique grand prize draw offering participants the chance to win either a brand new car or €30,000 in cash.
This marks the final of the fundraising efforts for the school astroturf facility which they hope to have in place in the coming months.
Adding a dramatic twist to the raffle, the school pitch (the site for the astroturf facility) will be divided into a series of numbered grids, with each ticket holder allocated their own grid space.
A helicopter will fly over the pitch at 4pm and drop three schoolbags onto the marked area below.
The winning ticket will be determined by the exact grid where the schoolbag lands.
The winner of the first schoolbag drop will receive a cash prize of €1000, the second drop will receive €1000 and the third schoolbag drop will receive the grand prize of the car or €30,000 cash.
There will also be a number of raffle draws on the day with free raffle tickets given to all in attendance.
In addition to the headline draw, families attending the event can look forward to a lively atmosphere with entertainment and activities suitable for all ages throughout the day from 2pm.
As the countdown begins, organisers from the school are encouraging the wider community to come along, reconnect with old friends, celebrate the school’s proud history and help create new memories for the next generation.
