SUMMER arrived for a couple of hours on Tuesday evening as former students from Causeway Comprehensive School made their way in the sunshine to the Ballyroe Heights Hotel.
The occasion was the annual Debs Ball, organised by the students themselves, which saw them get together just weeks after completing their Leaving Cert.
Around 130 sat down for a meal followed by entertainment from the folks at Debs Guru and they no doubt had a fantastic time. We were there to capture the style at the start of the evening. Scroll down for photos…
IT’S been a very busy week at the Ballyroe Heights Hotel as students from around the county enjoyed their Debs Balls during the mid-term break.
With Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí and Presentation Tralee students already enjoying their nights out on Monday and Wednesday, on Friday it was the turn of CBS The Green students to get dressed up for a well-deserved party.

THE Ballyroe Heights Hotel was awash with style as around 300 teenagers converged on the venue for the Mercy Mounthawk students debs ball on Friday night.
While the rest of the debs balls have moved to the February mid-term break, the Mounthawk students have remained steadfast in brightening up early January with the glamorous event.

WHILE most of the Tralee schools’ Debs Balls took place during mid-term break, one group of students used the Easter break to hold their glamorous event.
There were 28 students from Coláiste Gleann Lí at the ball held at the function room at the Kerins O’Rahillys clubhouse which looked very classy for the occasion.
The close-knit students enjoyed a meal followed by DJ entertainment and they certainly looked very stylish as you can see below…
THE sixth years from Tralee schools may have held their debs balls a couple of weeks ago during the mid-term break, but it was the turn of their younger schoolmates on Friday night.
Transition Year students from around town and beyond gathered for a special TY Ball in the Ballyroe Heights Hotel.
Dressed to impress, around 370 teenagers convened for a night of food and fun at the venue where students from five schools were represented. Of course, with all the attendees under 18, there was no alchohol served.

“There’s students here from Presentation, CBS The Green, Mercy Mounthawk, Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí and Castlegregory school,” said Stephen Conway, one of the organisers from Mercy Mounthawk.
“We had two or three TY representatives from each school on the committee and there was a bit of organising involved. We’re having some food, dancing and a bit of craic,” said Stephen. Scroll down for photos…

DEBS Ball week continued at Ballyroe Heights Hotel last night with Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí students having some fun before knuckling down for the final few months of study.
The ball was organised by the sixth years themselves and saw over 80 students enjoy a well-deserved night of food and fun.

Last night it was the turn of Presentation Secondary School Tralee students to partake in an evening of fine food and entertainment at the Ballyroe Heights Hotel.
Organised, as always, by the students themselves, over 100 teenagers gathered at the venue and they certainly looked stylish for the occasion as you can see by the photos below…

Over 260 teenagers donned their gladrags for the occasion where they enjoyed a meal and some great entertainment before getting back to the hard work of studying for the leaving cert.

THE wind was howling around Ballyroe Heights Hotel on Saturday night as over 260 teenagers arrived for the Mercy Mounthawk students debs ball.
After the last students’ ball was held in late February, it was back to the traditional time of early in the new year for the event, organised by the students themselves, who had a great time before the hard work of the run-in to the Leaving Cert.

AROUND 300 stylish young people from the local area gathered at the Ballyroe Heights Hotel on Friday evening for the inaugural Tralee Youth Ball.
The alcohol-free ‘pre-debs’ event was independently arranged by young people — with no involvement from any school — for teenagers aged between 16 and 18 as a chance for a well-deserved get together after a tough two years when COVID restricted socialising.
The students enjoyed a three course meal followed by entertainment from a DJ with the whole affair ending before midnight. There was no shortage of style as you can see for the photos below…
IT’S Debs Ball week at the Ballyroe Heights Hotel and last night it was the turn of Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí students to have fun during the mid-term break.
Over 90 guests were in attendance for a night of food, fashion and dancing until the small hours, a chance for the sixth years to have some well-earned fun before the hard work they face over the coming months.

WHILE the Christmas or Summer holidays are the normal times for Debs Balls, the past two years have been anything but normal.
The students from Mercy Mounthawk were unable to hold their debs at Christmas due to COVID restrictions, so the mid-term break proved an opportune time to get together to enjoy a well-earned night out.

WE’RE in festive debs season and after the glamour of the CBS Tralee students ball on Monday, it was the turn of Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí students to glam up on Thursday night.
Again, the venue was the Ballyroe Heights Hotel and over 90 students enjoyed a three course meal with entertainment from a DJ. They were joined by around 35 more partygoers for the ‘afters’ later.

Organised by the students, around 115 people sat down for a meal followed by a DJ who kept the party atmosphere going into the early hours.

AFTER CBS and Mercy Mounthawk students enjoyed their debs during the week, it was time for Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí students to have some fun on Saturday night.
Again, the venue was the Ballyroe Heights Hotel and 74 students enjoyed a three course meal with entertainment from DJ Big Jim. They were joined by 66 more partygoers for the ‘afters’.

THE ladies who sat their Leaving Cert at Presentation Tralee in June met up again on Tuesday night, but it was an altogether more relaxed and enjoyable experience this time.
Around 180 amazingly-dressed young people were in the Ballyroe Heights Hotel for the Presentation Students’ Debs Ball.

THE glamour was something else at Ballyroe Heights Hotel last night for the annual IT Tralee Clubs and Societies Ball.
Around 350 students from the college attended the final students ball of the year and it was a chance to celebrate student participation and achievement in the college’s clubs and societies.
There were also four special awards given out on the night. The Team of the Year award went to the Men’s Basketball Team, The Sports Person of the Year went to handballer Shane Dunne, the Society of the Year went to the Cinema Society and the Society Person of the Year went to Conor O’Brien of the Events Society.

They certainly turned on the style and let their hair down before returning to the business of studying for the Leaving Cert next week.

THURSDAY night saw over 300 student party in Ballyroe Heights Hotel at the Mercy Mounthawk students Debs Ball.
It was a fantastic night for the students, most of whom are facing into months of study ahead of the Leaving Cert so it was a chance for all of them to get together for dinner, music and a few, uh, lemonades.
