Don explained that hosting the event taking on the auspicious 1500th anniversary of St Brigid’s Day is a wonderful way to celebrate this extraordinary saint and all she achieved during her remarkable lifetime.

“Brigid is a role model for the ages, inspiring us with her compassion, her hospitality, her generosity, her skills as a healer and a teacher, her wisdom, her respect for our life giving planet and living in harmony with mother nature – a peacemaker and diplomat, a model of equality recognizing and treating women and men as equals, as she inspired generations to emulate her and follow in her footsteps,” Don said.

“It is with this spirit of empowerment and community we will endeavour to empower each other at the INEC on February 1st, as we celebrate St. Brigid with inspiring song, fashion and conversation, as we raise much need funds for Recovery Haven Kerry. Colin and I have dedicated our careers to empowering women through our designs and are thrilled to be part of this event.”

Tralee’s Ballyroe Heights Hotel will once again host the event, which takes place this year on Saturday, July 13 and promises all the glitz, glamour and fun of last year’s event which raised in excess of €20,000 for the cancer support charity.

As well as a stunning four course meal, Don and Pascal have also lined up an amazing night of entertainment, with the incredibly talented O’Neill Sisters returning for a pre-dinner performance.

The couple have also once again enlisted their own wedding band – the amazing Bentley Boys Band – to perform into the night.

A number of local sponsors have eagerly come on board to donate some remarkable spot prizes on the night, including a limited edition print from both renowned artists Pauline Bewick and Poppy Melia; a luxury pamper-package courtesy of Expose Beauty, afternoon tea for two at Ballyseede Castle Hotel, while Kerry Airport and Ryanair have joined forces to offer one lucky winner return flights for two on any of Ryanair’s routes from Kerry.

The best dressed lady, meanwhile, chosen once again by Orla Diffily, will once walk away with a dream prize of a THEIA gown of her choice, designed and kindly donated by Don.

The stellar event will kick off with a champagne and cocktail red carpet reception at the earlier time of 5pm, and just like last year, all guests will have the opportunity to have their photograph taken with Don and Pascal on arrival.

Speaking about the event, Don says he and Pascal are thrilled to be back to support Recovery Haven Kerry.

“Pascal and I were overwhelmed with the outpouring of love, support and generosity for Recovery Haven at last summer’s gala dinner in memory of my mom. The energy on the night was electric, the style was amazing and a great night was had by all,” Don explained, “As the night was drawing to a close the requests began pouring in for us to please do this again next year, so we are coming back. Please join us and help create another fun filled memorable summer’s night in aid of Recovery Haven”

Friend of the couple and Recovery Haven PR & Marketing officer, Marisa Reidy, said everyone at the charity is thrilled that Don and Pascal have decided to return and says everyone is already looking forward to another amazing night.

“We are indebted to Don and Pascal for agreeing to come back and do it all again his year,” Marisa said, “Last year’s event was an outstanding, sell-out success and raised over €20,000 for Recovery Haven which was just incredible. People were asking for tickets weeks ago, so we have no doubt this year’s event will be another sell out and we cannot wait to do it all again. We cannot thank Don and Pascal for their amazing support.”

Tickets for this year’s event, priced at €75 each, are now available from Recovery Haven at 5 Haig’s Terrace, Tralee on 066 7192122 or via email at marisa@recoveryhavenkerry.com.

Meghan Markle Wears Kerry Designer’s Gown On Royal Tour

.
Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle wearing the THEIA gown, with husband Prince Harry this week.

HE’S had his designs worn by Hollywood royalty but now a Kerry designer can add actual royalty to his list of clients, as Meghan Markle donned a Don O’Neill creation this week.

The Duchess of Sussex wore the custom THEIA gown to a reception and dinner hosted by King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau’u of Tonga on Day 10 of the couple’s Australian Royal Tour.

The ivory crepe column gown features flanged shoulders, a jewel neck, and side slit. The shoulders are accentuated with hand embroidered appliques of crystals and micro glass beads.

.

Ballyheigue native and THEIA Creative Director Don O’Neill explained how it all came about. “The Duchess of Sussex has long been a source of inspiration. Her classic, effortless and chic style coupled with all the excitement  leading up to her wedding earlier this year inspired my Spring 2019 bridal collection which I showed in April.”

“When her stylist reached out to inquire if I could make a dress for her Australian press tour, I stopped everything  we were doing (my bridal show was just a week away) and immediately went to work on Her Royal Highness’s gown.

We completed the gown in 2 days, shipped it out and received confirmation that The Duchess loved it, but with one caveat. We needed to remake it with extra seam allowance. We knew immediately why this extra allowance was required, but mum’s the word, and with less than one week to my bridal show, all hands were on deck once more, we re-made the gown and I literally had to run down Broadway that Friday night to catch the UPS truck making it with just 2 minutes to spare!”

“I am humbled and sooo excited to dress The Duchess of Sussex. It has been an exciting whirlwind collaboration. Her Royal Highness is a truly beautiful inspiring woman, a bright shining light in this world and we at THEIA are truly honored to be part of The Royal Tour of Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga and New Zealand.”

Her gown will be available for pre-order for $995 at TheiaCouture.com.

Khloe Kardashian Wears Kerry Man’s Creation To Golden Globes Party

THERE was a Kerry connection at the Golden Globes last night when famed socialite and reality TV star, Khloe Kardashian, showed up to an after party in a gown created by Ballyheigue man Don O’Neill.

The New York-based designer is enjoying huge success at the moment with his THEIA collection, appearing on RTE’s ‘The Saturday Night Show’ and having his designs featured in the Sunday Independent’s Life magazine on Sunday.

Now Khloe Kardashian decided to post this (below) on her Instagram account for her 16.4 million followers.

That should get him a little bit more exposure.
