AFTER a month of dry, sunny Saturdays, the weather refused to play ball at the weekend as the wind and rain threatened to spoil the big day for Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn pupils.
But they’re made of sterner stuff at that school and nothing could dampen the enthusiasm of the second class pupils who made their way to St John’s Church.
The teachers Ms Siobhan Ní Chonchubair and Ms Deirdre Ní Chionnaith had their pupils well prepared to receive the sacrament from Fr Francis Nolan, aided by Fr Seán Hanafin.

THE lucky streak of dry weather in town for First Holy Communion ceremonies continued on Saturday, as families arrived at St John’s Church.
It was the turn of St Brendan’s NS Blennerville pupils to receive the sacrament at the weekend and teacher Ms Gillian Lawlor had her charges well-prepared for the big day, where Fr Vitalis was the celebrant.

THE big day finally arrived for pupils from Caherleaheen NS and St Brendan’s NS Fenit on Saturday, as they received First Holy Communion.
Seventeen pupils and their families made their way to the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Rathass for the ceremony where Fr Mark Moriarty was the celebrant.
Meanwhile, Fr Francis Nolan administered the sacrament to seven pupils from St Brendan’s NS in Fenit at St Joseph’s Church. The weather stayed dry thankfully so families from both schools could enjoy the day and the celebrations.Scroll down for photos…

THEY were blessed with the fine weather on Saturday as families of CBS Primary School pupils made their way to St John’s Church for First Holy Communion Day.
The second class pupils were well prepared for the special day by their teachers Daithi Casey and Gearóid O’Sullivan and it was a wonderful occasion for all with Fr Tadhg Fitzgerald as the celebrant.

THE weather gods were truly smiling once again on Tralee schoolchildren for a very special occasion on Saturday.
The pupils from three second classes at Scoil Eoin Balloonagh made their way in the sunshine to Our Lady and St Brendan’s Church to receive First Holy Communion.
Fr Padraig Walsh — assisted by Deacon Sean Murphy — was the celebrant for three separate ceremonies as pupils from the classes of Triona Daly, Nora O’Sullivan and Siobhan Daly received the sacrament.

THE sun made a rare appearance on Saturday as families arrived at Our Lady and St Brendan’s Church.
The occasion was First Holy Communion day for the second class pupils from Holy Family Primary School.
The youngsters were very excited for the day and teacher Katie Crowe had them well prepared to receive the sacrament from Fr Amos.

THANKFULLY, the second Saturday of First Holy Communions for schools in the Tralee area was another dry one for families who headed to St John’s Church and St Brendan’s Church in Curraheen.
It was the turn of Presentation Primary School pupils to receive the sacrament in St John’s with Ms Field and Ms O’Shea’s charges well prepared for the day where Fr Bernard Healy was the celebrant.
Meanwhile, two pupils from Derryquay were enjoying their big day in Curraheen where Fr Vitalis gave the sacrament.

AFTER all the rain we’ve had during ‘Confirmation season’, the sun shone brightly over Tralee on Saturday for First Holy Communions.
There were two ceremonies taking place at St John’s Church and Our Lady and St Brendan’s Church with families arriving in the fine weather for the special day.
Mercy Moyderwell pupils received the sacrament from Fr David McGovern at St John’s while Fr Amos was the celebrant at St Brendan’s for the Listellick and St Ita’s and St Joseph’s School pupils.

THEY couldn’t have asked for better weather on Saturday as families made their way to St John’s Church on Saturday for a very special occasion.
The final First Holy Communion Day in the Tralee area for 2023 saw pupils from Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn receive the sacrament from Fr Francis Nolan.

THEY were blessed with dry weather on Saturday as families made their way to St John’s Church on Castle Street for the annual CBS Primary First Holy Communion Day.

THE lovely, intimate Church of the Immaculate Conception in Rathass was the venue for a special event on Saturday morning.
There were 24 girls and boys from Caherleaheen NS making their First Holy Communion. They has been preparing for months under Ms de Hóra and they all had a wonderful day.

IT was a lovely morning for families arriving to St John’s Church on Saturday morning.
The occasion was, of course, the annual First Holy Communion ceremony, with pupils and their families dressed to impress for the occasion.

IT didn’t look good for a while weatherise, but it dried up for families as they arrived at St John’s Church on Saturday for the St Brendan’s NS Blennerville First Holy Communion Day.
There were 25 pupils receiving the sacrament on the day and they all were well prepared under the guidance of teacher Ms Lawlor.

SUNSHINE greeted families arriving to Our Lady and St Brendan’s Church on Saturday morning for three separate First Holy Communion ceremonies.
The big day had finally arrived for second class pupils from Scoil Eoin Balloonagh and teachers Ms O’Sullivan and the two Ms Dalys (Siobhan and Triona) had them well prepared to receive the sacrament.
Fr Padraig Walsh was the celebrant on the day and thankfully the weather played ball so families could pose for photos before going off to enjoy private celebrations after the ceremonies. Scroll down for photos…

THE hottest day of the year so far was a bonus for families arriving at St John’s Church on Saturday morning for First Holy Communion Day.
It was the turn of 47 second class pupils from Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn to receive the sacrament and they were well prepared by teachers Edel Ní Shuilleabháin and Deirdre Ní Chionnaith.

SATURDAY morning saw beautifully dressed boys and girls from Presentation Primary arrive at St John’s Church (with their similarly sartorially-elegant families) for their First Holy Communion Day.
Fifteen of Ms O’Shea’s second class pupils were well prepared for the ceremony, with Fr Bernard Healy celebrating Mass.
They were joined by three pupils from St John’s Parochial School on Ashe Street who also received the sacrament.

THANKFULLY, the weather stayed dry as families arrived at St John’s Church on Saturday afternoon for a special occasion for young boys and girls.
It was First Holy Communion Day for St Brendan’s NS Blennerville second class pupils and Ms Lawlor had her charges well prepared for the ceremony, with the Mass celebrated by Fr Vitalis.

EXCITED children from Listellick National School’s second class arrived to Our Lady and St Brendan’s Church in the fine weather on Saturday for their First Holy Communion.
They were joined by two children from St Ita’s and St Joseph’s on what was a lovely occasion for all with the mass celebrated by Fr Amos and Fr Ahern.

THE Church of the Immaculate Conception in Rathass was the intimate setting on Saturday for a momentous occasion for young boys and girls in Caherleaheen National School.
The second class pupils were there to receive First Holy Communion in a lovely service celebrated by Fr Sean Jones.

FAMILIES arrived to Our Lady and St Brendan’s Church on Saturday morning for a very special occasion for young boys and girls.
It was First Holy Communion Day for the second class pupils from Scoil Eoin Balloonagh and teachers Fiona Sheehan, Nora O’Sullivan and Siobhan Daly had them well prepared to receive the sacrament.

THE weather gods were smiling on Saturday morning for the pupils of Moyderwell Mercy Primary School for their First Holy Communion Day.
Taking place at St John’s Church, 26 pupils from Sarah Keane and Siobhan Moriarty’s classes received the sacrament watched by their proud families.

THE Communion/Confirmation season in Tralee finally came to an end on Saturday as third class pupils of CBS Primary School gathered in St John’s Church.
The boys and girls had been waiting a long time for their First Holy Communion Day and their teachers had them well prepped for the ceremonies.

SUNNY, but breezy conditions greeted families as they arrived at St John’s Church on Saturday morning.
The occasion was First Holy Communion Day for Presentation Primary School pupils, which they has been eagerly awaiting since it was delayed from the traditional May date.

THE third class pupils from Moyderwell Mercy Primary School finally got to enjoy their First Holy Communion Day on Saturday.
Pupils from two classes made their way to St John’s Churchon Saturday morning for the two ceremonies.
