Tesco Teams With FoodCloud For Stronger Starts Summer Food Collection

Tesco Ireland is asking customers across Kerry to help support families in their community by taking part in the Stronger Starts Summer Food Collection, running from Thursday, June 25th to Saturday, June 27th June in larger Tesco stores.

While summer is often associated with fun and family time, it can also bring added pressure for many households. The cost of meals, summer activities and everyday essentials can quickly add up — and for some, it means making difficult choices.

That’s why Tesco, alongside its community partners FoodCloud and local voluntary organisations, is encouraging Kerry hoppers to help in a simple but meaningful way: by donating just one item of non‑perishable food during their weekly shop.

Customers are invited to pick up just one extra cupboard staple such as pasta, rice, porridge or tinned food and place it in the donation trolley at the front of participating Tesco stores.

Volunteers from local community groups will be on hand throughout the weekend to collect donations and ensure they reach families who need them most.

Thanks to the generosity of customers and colleagues, Tesco Ireland food collections have facilitated the donation of over €3.4 million worth of food since 2013, helping to provide more than 2.7 million meals to children and families across Ireland.

Across their summer and Christmas collections last year alone, over €430,000 worth of food was donated, proof that small actions really can make a big difference.
