THE Huddle Bar is celebrating a three in a row this week as it has once again been named Best Match Day Pub in the South-West region in the Irish Pub Awards.
Having won the regional award for in 2024 and 2025, the Strand Street Bar didn’t rest on its laurels and the public voted to ensure a hat-trick of wins this year.
Proprietor, Paul Lowth, was delighted with the win and says it’s all down to his great staff and the customers who enjoy the “proper sports bar” experience.

“We’re thrilled! It’s great for business, for the staff and the customers. We have amazing staff here and with 22 TVs around the bar we can offer a huge choice of sports to watch.”
“It’s a proper sports bar. We have Americans in on Sundays for American football, we have all the memorabilia on the walls like signed jerseys by Messi, Maradona, and more and Pat here can give them a tour,” he said.
The National Irish Pub Awards are open to all member of VFI and LVA. There are no fees to enter and regional finalists and category winners will receive a generous prize package.
The Irish Pub Awards Gala night, where the overall National Pub of the Year will be revealed, along with all category awards, will take place in Dublin on Wednesday, November 18.
