Crowds will line the streets once again in March for the St Patrick’s Day parade.

AFTER a break of three years, the people of Tralee and beyond will fill the streets of the town on St Patrick’s Day for the parade.

While it’s just under seven weeks away, the call has gone out now to clubs and community groups to get involved in this year’s event which is sure to be bigger and better than ever.

Hundreds of people from dozens of organisations took part pre-COVID, showing the amazing community spirit in the town and bringing much colour and entertainment to proceedings.

For many years the parade and festivities have been organised by a dedicated team of Volunteers and this year Kerry County Council and Tralee Chamber Alliance have come together to take this successful event forward.

The St Patrick’s Festival organisers have themed this year’s parade with the slogan ‘Let’s go the Green Way’; appealing to everyone who will participate in this year’s parade to not alone provide a colourful display for the thousands of spectators who visit the town for the parade but to also consider sustainability, eco-tourism and a green friendly awareness and approach to your participation.

The theme is also a nod to the upcoming opening of the Tralee to Fenit Greenway later this year.

The organisers are calling on all those in businesses, organisations and sports clubs to ask themselves ‘what are our green actions for 2022?’ and to use their imaginations and come up with some creative and informative entries for this year’s parade.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to showcase your organisation and demonstrate what you do.

There are several different categories of awards the winners of which will be selected by the judges on the viewing stand.

The eApplications can be accessed now via the Parade’s Facebook Page Tralee St Patrick’s Day Parade.

The 2022 Application needs to be submitted by the 9th of March 2022. You can access the application form by clicking on the following link https://forms.gle/n1vQo5Bjfd8iobJ6A  or email stpatrickstralee@gmail.com for more details.
