KILLARNEY Cycling Club has announced the return of its much-anticipated Three Peaks Cycling Challenge, taking place on Saturday, June 6.

This year, the club is calling on cyclists of all abilities to cycle in support of their chosen charity, Comfort for Chemo Kerry.

The 2026 event features two stunning new routes designed to showcase the wild, remote beauty of our beautiful county.

Riders can choose between the 100km Challenge for experienced riders through the quiet rural roads of Glencar, tackling the formidable Bealaghbeama Gap and returning via the iconic Moll’s Gap.

The 80km option is a more accessible route around the stunning Caragh lake, one of Kerry’s hidden secrets—ideal for those building confidence and fitness ahead of the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle.

Both routes promise breath-taking views of Ireland’s most spectacular landscapes, warm camaraderie, and plenty of support along the way. The day will conclude with a celebratory BBQ for all participants at the Killarney Racecourse.

For those looking for a shorter distance, the club is also hosting a family-friendly route starting from the Racecourse, ensuring the whole community can get involved.

This year’s beneficiary, Comfort for Chemo Kerry, has been a tireless advocate for cancer patients in the region. Their years of campaigning have successfully secured a new oncology unit in the recently announced development of University Hospital Kerry.

“We are honoured to support these dedicated individuals,” said a spokesperson for Killarney Cycling Club. “While the government has committed to the building, Comfort for Chemo Kerry continues to fundraise to ensure the unit is equipped to a state-of-the-art level. Our goal is to help them create a space that provides dignity, comfort, and world-class care for everyone receiving oncology services in Kerry.”
