Posted by

Or more specifically, Saturday, as there little else happening this weekend. It’s all about the election, but if you want a break from politics, these events might entertain you…

1. Warriors’ Kobe tribute…

The basketball world is still mourning the death of Kobe Bryant and Garveys Tralee Warriors are showing respect by asking fans to wear a Kobe Bryant shirt to their game on Saturday night and they’ll get in for free.

Also, if people wear black to the game, they’ll get free entry to the raffle. The opposition at Tralee Sports Complex is Pyrobel Killester as the Mens Superleague enters a critical stage with just six games to go. Tip-off is at 7.30pm.

2. Have a laugh at Siamsa…

Dublin’s Laughter Lounge has been in the comedy business a long time but they are now taking their show on the road and reach Siamsa on Saturday night.

Top acts Eric Lalor, John Colleary and Gar Murran will provide welcome comic relief from the serious business of voting. Tickets: €21/18. Show begins at 8pm.

3. Married bliss on dancefloor at Ballyroe…

Final preparations are in hand for ‘Mr & Mrs Strictly Come Dancing’ organised by Tralee Musical Society, where married couples from all over town and beyond will take part in what promises to be a fantastic night of entertainment at Ballyroe Heights Hotel.

It’s the first event of its kind in Kerry, as there’ll also be a ‘Mr & Mrs’ quiz element to the night.

The event is being held to help fund Tralee Musical Society’s next production of ‘Ghost – The Musical’, adapted from the hit 1990 romantic fantasy thriller film, in April 2020.

Doors open at 7pm with the show at 8pm. The evening will be followed by a DJ till late. Tickets at €20 and can be purchased from all participating couples, from Emma Quirke’s Hair Salon, Maine Street, or just contact the Tralee Musical Society’s facebook page by clicking here.
