The winter swimming has been a huge success this year. We had up to 27 swimmers one Sunday with the average amount being 14.
All swims were in Togs only and a great craic was had by all during the swima and afterwards enjoying teas, coffees and hot chocolates.
It was great to see so many enthusiastic swimmers, a lot of whom were newcomers. We will continue every Sunday up until March 29, when we will have a draw for The Easter Hamper and some Easter eggs for the kids.
We will also present the 2014 / 15 Winter Swimmer Award. All of these Sunday swims have been fun and non competitive. Everyone just went in and either had a dip or pushed themselves to do a bit more each week.
We had consistently low water temperatures for 3 weeks around the 5c mark at the end of January / early February.
It has risen dramatically since with last Sunday showing 9.2c.
2015 Swimming Season
The official start to the 2015 season is St Patrick’s Day. There will be a group going in at the beach c11 am, subject to change.

The recent AGM was a very amicable affair with a few great discussions and suggestions. All of the 2014 officers were more than happy to return to their posts and it was great to see some new enthusiastic swimmers attend.
