TRALEE Lions Club is preparing to celebrate its 60th Anniversary with a concert at Siamsa Tire on Thursday, May 28.

Rehearsals took place at Dúchas Centre MTU last week, under the watchful eye of Stage Producer Tom Hanifin in preparation for the event,  themed ‘Raised on Songs and Stories’.

Tralee’s own Seamus Harty, a singer/songwriter who is carving a very successful career at home and abroad, will be performing on the night.

Seamus will bring the audience on a musical journey that showcases his versatility as he performs an array of well-known classics from Christy Hennessy to The Rat Pack, with some Irish and American Folk songs as well as his own material interwoven with fascinating life stories.

Joining Seamus on stage in Siamsa will be the well-known Tralee Choir, Cor Seoda Tire under the guidance of Martina Ryan and other well-known Tralee vocalists Sharon Lynch and Pat Pierce, with a few surprise guests.

After rehearsals, Lions President Corinne Evans thanked all those present with promises that ‘Raised on Song and Stories’ will be a night to remember for all in attendance.

Proceeds from the Charity event will be distributed among the many local Charities who have benefited from the 60-year tradition of fund raising by their own Tralee Lions Club.

Tickets for the Charity event can be bought by clicking here or purchased over the counter at Siamsa at a cost of €28 (+booking fee). Price includes a wine and snacks reception from 7.15pm.
