U7 Hurling
Braving the unpredictable weather our under 7’s were delighted to be back training on the familiar ground of Caherslee on Friday. This week there was a strong emphasis on perfecting our pick up and pucking skills, the hours of practice at home is really starting to show in these players and the coaches were very impressed.
As always training was sealed with the infamous match to display those well honed hurling skills. Well done to this week’s players of the week Fionn Hegarty & James Higgins O’Sullivan and last weeks players of the week Aidan Kelly & Darragh Moriarty. Well done boys.
U8 Camogie
On Wednesday night our U8 Camogie players welcomed Abbeykillix to Caherslee. Our girls started strong and played well from the start. We were up against great competition. The energy levels were high and our girls really got stuck in and didn’t stop pushing forward.
We also have two Rosebuds in our team this year, Lilly McDonald and Hannah Hobbert wishing them the best of luck in this year’s Rose of Tralee! Well done to everyone involved, thanks to Abbeykillix for travelling and to our referees Óran and Shauna.
U10 Camogie
The girls had a great night of hurling on Wednesday as they hosted Abbeykilix in Caherslee. Parnells started slow but by the third quarter were clocking scores on the board and finished strong against a competitive Abbeykilix side.
The girls showed great skill and determination and it was a very impressive match to watch. Well done to all the girls and a massive thanks to Abbeykilix for the visit – a pleasure as always to host. Thanks also to lana our referee on the night.
U9 Hurling
Well done to our U9s who played three 11-a-side matches against Kilmoyley, Abbeydorney and St Brendans in Kilmoyley last Friday night. This was probably the first time this bunch of players would have played on pitches that size and they performed really well displaying great skills and fighting to the end in every match. Well done boys!
U14 Camogie
Our U14 Amber team had a fantastic win on Tuesday night against Killarney. Both teams showed great skill on the night but Parnells seemed to bring all they have been learning to the game with unbelievable teamwork to bring the final score to 3.3 to 3.1. Well done girls!! A fantastic performance.
U15 Hurling
The U15 boys yet again were up against Ballyduff in another final on Sunday. This time it was the County League final and the match was held in Abbeydorney. This was another very close affair with the sides level at half time 1-6 to 0-9.
In the second half Ballyduff fought hard to lead for most of game. However, a goal in the last few minutes by Eoin Costelloe sealed another victory for the team. Final score: Parnells 2-11 Ballyduff 2-9. This match marks the end of a very enjoyable and successful season for this group of players and management. Well done all.
