Kerry Companies Receive Bord Bia Origin Green Gold Membership

BORD Bia has today recognised Kerry companies for their sustainability performance in 2024 with Origin Green Gold Membership.

Gold Membership is awarded to Origin Green verified companies if they make significant improvements in their sustainability target areas.

Target areas can include supply chain sourcing, water, emissions, waste reductions, packaging, and social sustainability.

The five Kerry companies to receive the membership are All Real Nutrition, Kerry Group, Kush Seafarms, Murphy’s Ice Cream and Valentia Island Vermouth.

The Gold Members were formally acknowledged at Bord Bia’s annual Origin Green Sustainability Seminar, which was opened by Charlie McConalogue T.D., Minister for Agriculture, Food, and the Marine.

A total of 34 Gold Member companies in 2024 came from Munster, with the highest number of companies coming from Cork (16), Kerry (5), and Waterford (5).

SIX Kerry companies have been recognised for sustainability performance by Bord Bia. The body has acknowledged the sustainability performance of 97 Irish food and drink companies that have attained Origin Green Gold Membership in 2023.

Gold Membership is given to companies, which are members of the Origin Green programme, in recognition of their enhanced sustainability efforts.

The six Kerry companies awarded Gold Membership at the event are All Real Nutrition, BC Shellfish Ltd, Kerry Group, Lee Strand Cooperative Creamery Ltd, O’Connell Heritage Ltd and Quinlan’s Fish.

The Gold Members were formally recognised at Bord Bia’s annual Origin Green Sustainability Seminar on Thursday, which was opened by Charlie McConalogue T.D, Minister for Agriculture, Food, and the Marine.

Since the establishment of the awards in 2020, a total of 234 Irish food, drink and horticulture companies have been awarded Gold Membership. Overall, the 97 companies come from 21 counties and represent sectors such as dairy, meat, seafood and aquaculture, confectionary, beverages, and horticulture.
