Call To The Christmas Fair This Saturday At Teach An tSolais In Tralee

CHRISTMAS is coming and the festive atmosphere will truly in evidence this Saturday at a special family event in town.

Teach an tSolais, beside St John’s Church of Ireland in Ashe Street, Tralee will host the Tralee, Ballymacelligott and Ballyseedy Christmas Fair 2023.

This is always a wonderful community and fundraising event for the parish to bring people together as well as raising much needed funds for the churches.

Head along and enjoy the various stalls and items on offer. There’ll be fresh baking, jams and preserves, Christmas crafts and decorations, flower arrangements, the ever-popular silent auction, raffles, guess the weight of the cake, festive games and many other delights.

Then, once the browsing and shopping is over, why not sit and enjoy burgers, sausages, teas, coffee, apple pie and have a chat. It takes place between 10am and 2pm on the day with just €2 for entry (there’s also a door prize raffle).

The Christmas fair is made possible by the creativity and generosity of the parishioners, neighbours’ friends, supporters and patrons and those who so kindly donate gifts and vouchers.

Fun For All The Family This Sunday At Scoil Eoin Festive Fair

LOOKING for something for all the family to do tomorrow afternoon?

Well Scoil Eoin is hosting its second Festive Fair from 12 noon to 4pm. It promises to be a great day out to get into the magical spirit of Christmas. The event is being organised and run voluntarily by the Parents Association with the help of Scoil Eoin staff staff.

The event is open to everyone, not just school patrons, and will include a variety of festive novelties, gifts, decorations, handmade crafts, baked goods, hot chocolates and treats.

There will be spot prizes kindly donated by local businesses given out throughout the event with raffle tickets bought on the day. Most of the classes in the school will also be putting on special performances at the fair to add to the Christmas atmosphere.

Santa Claus will be there in his special grotto where families can get a professional photo taken, at a very reasonable price, by photographer John Walsh who is very kindly donating his services.

There will be music, fun and activities for kids to enjoy.  The organisers ask that all children attending be accompanied by an adult at the fair.

WITH just over four weeks to go until Christmas Day, the festive atmosphere only increases between now and when Santa arrives.

A great place to sample the festive fun, is in Teach an tSolais, beside St Johns Church of Ireland in Ashe Street, Tralee on Saturday, December 9 for the Tralee, Ballymacelligott and Ballyseedy Christmas Fair 2023.

This is always a wonderful community and fundraising event for the parish to bring people together as well as raising much needed funds for the churches.

THERE was a wonderful atmosphere in St Ita’s and St Joseph’s school on Thursday as they held a Christmas Craft Fair.

There was music, food and and array of wonderful produce on display for the event and Santa Claus even dropped in for a mince pie and a chat.

“The fair is a fundraiser for the school with the crafts having been made by the students attending here,” said teacher Caroline Morrissey.

“They made the crafts in the art and woodwork classes while the staff are helping out at the stands and the parents have brought in baked goods for all to enjoy,” she added.

It was a hugely successful event with €3,365 raised through sales and the raffle with many local businesses sponsoring spot prizes. All at the school thanked everyone who contributed. Scroll down for photos…

THE annual Christmas Fair at Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn was another super success on Sunday as hundreds of parents and children visited the school hall.

There were raffles, an auction, face painting, nail-painting, milk shakes, pancakes, goodies, home baking and a Christmas sing along with Chris White suppling the music.

Christmas wreaths, centre pieces and class calendars sold well, while Santa also paid a visit to the fair which had to be cancelled for the past couple of years because of Covid.

“There’s a great buzz and we’re delighted to welcome people back,” said Principal Cáit Uí Chonchúir. “We’ve had great support from the school community and local businesses. We’ve about 50 hampers to raffle,” said Cáit, who was attending her last Christmas fair as Principal as she is retiring at the end of the year.

A presentation was made to Càit on behalf of the Parents Association, parents, guardians and the students of Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn wishing her the very best in her retirement. Scroll down for photos…

Fun For All At Christmas Fair In Teach An tSolais This Saturday

A WONDERFUL event will again take place at Teach an tSolais at St John’s Ashe Street on Saturday, as the Tralee, Ballymacelligott and Ballyseedy parish hosts its annual Christmas Fair.

Taking place from 10.30am to 2.30pm, it’s set to be a fantastic day for all the family with raffles and hampers, face-painting, children’s games teas/coffees, scones and burgers, a door prize and more.

A silent auction will also take place with some great prizes up for grabs. There’ll also be Christmas decorations for sale as well as children’s toys and games, home-baking and preserves, clothes and more so why not call in this Saturday, December 14.

This is an important community building and fundraising event for the parish and all involved are most grateful for the support that they receive.

They are looking forward to welcoming regular supporters as well as those who will be coming for the first time. Funds raised will go towards the Church of Ireland Tralee, Ballyseedy and Ballymacelligott.

Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn To Host Annual Christmas Fair

GAELSCOIL Mhic Easmainn is hosting its annual Christmas Fair on Sunday, December 9 in the school hall.

This year is extra special as  the school is celebrating 40 successful years in all-Irish primary education.

There’s an invitation to come along and enjoy the great variety of stalls and auctions, where great items will be auctioned off to raise much needed funds for the school.

As always, these items are of excellent value and quality and can be used as fantastic Christmas gifts for friends, family or even a treat just for you.  There will also be lots of spot prizes on the day including an iPhone 6s.

The fair will run from 2pm to 4.30pm and there is a nominal fee of €5 per family. Plenty of fun and games to be had on the day and of course it wouldn’t be complete without the presence of the “big jolly man” himself.

All the stalls will comprise of fabulous home-made goodies and donations from local businesses.  You can also purchase a handmade Christmas wreath or one of the delicious home-made Christmas cakes.

Aonach na Nollaig is one of the school’s biggest fundraising events of the year and they are hoping that it will be the best to date.

SANTA made a special appearance at the Kerins O’Rahillys Clubhouse on Sunday as the club hosted a great Christmas fair.

There was a plethora of stands where people could browse for gifts with flower arrangements, Christmas candles, pottery, scarves and other accessories, Christmas cakes and lots more.

The club’s juvenile members also had their awards day and there was no shortage of entertainment with face painting,  Tommy Moloney the magician, kids games and of course Santa made an appearance to collect those last minute letters.

It also benefitted a great cause as the charity partner for the day was the Kerry Cancer Support Group Kerry Cork Health Link Bus. Scroll down for photos…

THE community turned out in force for the Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn Christmas Fair on Sunday.

There was a host of goodies, bric a brac, toys, Christmas wreathes and much, much more on sale at the event which drew a massive crowd to the school.

Tim Lynch and Tomás Ó hAiniféin were the auctioneers for some fantastic hampers and gifts donated by numerous local businesses.

As it’s the club’s awards day for the juvenile members – where they receive their medals for all the achievements through the year – there will be lots of entertainment for the kiddies too including face painting,  magician kids games and of course Santa will make an appearance to collect those last minute letters.

PUPILS, parents and staff at Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn are looking forward to a great afternoon’s entertainment this Sunday for their annual Christmas Fair.

The fair gets under way at 2pm and visitors can enjoy a special appearance from the Tommy Markham Cup won by Kerry minors in September – with past pupils  Andrew Barry and Jack Morgan bringing the trophy – and the chance to win an iPhone 6.

A lot of effort has gone into the event from the Parents Association and staff, with raffles and hampers galore, an auction, cake sale, Christmas wreaths and much more.

It should be a great afternoon.
