Show Your Support For The OCF On Lollipop Day This Weekend

.

THE 16th annual Lollipop Day, for the Oesophageal Cancer Fund (OCF) will take place this weekend on Friday, March 3 and Saturday, March 4.

The OCF is asking for support this weekend to help raise vital funds for oesophageal cancer. Lollipop Day involves thousands of people selling lollipops (€2) nationwide, in an effort to raise vital funds for oesophageal cancer.

Volunteers in Tralee will be selling the lollipops outside Garveys Supervalu, Rock Street.

The Oesophageal Cancer Fund (OCF) is a voluntary organisation and Ireland’s voice for Oesophageal Cancer. Established in 2001, the organisation receives no HSE or state funding of any kind and is wholly reliant on fundraising income and therefore, no top-up payments of any kind occur.

Money raised is used exclusively for research and raising awareness for oesophageal cancer. All of their Trustees and Scientific Board members work on a voluntary basis and receive no fees or remuneration for their involvement with the OCF.

Without the generosity and support they receive from the public, the OCF would not be able to provide the vital role it does in terms of awareness, research and better outcomes for patients and their families with this cancer in Ireland.

Noelle Ryan, OCF CEO, said:“We are very fortunate to have an ever increasing number of dedicated volunteers, all of whom make Lollipop Day possible and a success every year.
