A native of Brookhill near Killorglin, Celia returns to Killorglin Community College following eight years as Assistant Principal at Kerry College’s Clash Road Campus in Tralee, part of Kerry ETB’s Further Education and Training provision.
Her responsibilities included leading Teaching and Learning, coordinating examinations for certification and overseeing the Transition Year Further Education and Training programme for post-primary schools across the county.
Celia takes over from Fiona O’Brien at a time of strong student achievement at Killorglin Community College.
“It is a privilege to return to a school and community that I know so well,” Celia said. “There are fantastic students and staff here, and the recent Young Social Innovators success says a lot about the school. Our students are encouraged to have ideas, use their voice and get involved in issues that matter to them. I want to build on that.”
Celia holds a Master’s Degree in Inclusive Education from Dublin City University and received the national John Kelly Award in 2023 for her work on Universal Design for Learning (UDL).

Congratulations Celia , the school will continue in good hands 🙌 best of luck going forward
