LOCAL musicians from the Music Generation Kerry String Ensemble and Cór Seoda Tíre are set to take to the stage alongside internationally acclaimed chamber ensemble Trio Bohémo on Sunday, April 19 at 8pm in Siamsa Tíre.
The budding musicians will present The Unconquerable Soul, a powerful new large-scale work by Irish composer Rhona Clarke, written for the rarely heard combination of piano trio, choir, and string ensemble and conducted by Amy Ryan.
The piece was commissioned by Music Network in collaboration with Music Generation to mark Music Network’s 40th anniversary and celebrate the long-standing relationship between the two organisations.

Music Network established Music Generation in 2011 following a decade-long campaign for equal access to music education for every child and young person in Ireland.
Today, Music Generation, a subsidiary company of Music Network, continues to open up the world of music for children and young people across the country.

Rhona Clarke was among the first composers commissioned by Music Network in 1995. The three-movement composition is inspired by poems reflecting on hope as an enduring force in human life.
Trio Bohémo will perform the work in two special concerts in Louth and Kerry, collaborating with local Music Generation youth string ensembles and adult choirs, creating a unique collaboration between internationally renowned performers and musicians from local communities.

Since January, members of Cór Seoda Tíre have been rehearsing with their conductors and working closely with choral specialist Alan Leech, while the young string musicians have been working hard and preparing with their Music Generation Musician Educators.
In March, all the performers came together for a dedicated rehearsal with Trio Bohémo in preparation for next week’s big performance.
These performances form part of Trio Bohémo’s national tour with Music Network and also offer Irish audiences a rare opportunity to experience one of the most exciting emerging chamber ensembles as they make their long-awaited Irish debut.

In just five years, Trio Bohémo has emerged as a major force on the international chamber music scene. Comprised of Jan Vojtek (piano), Matouš Pěruška (violin) and Kristina Vocetková (cello), the Czech ensemble is renowned for its dynamic and emotionally charged performances.
The trio has appeared in some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including the Vienna Musikverein, Dvořák’s Hall at the Rudolfinum in Prague, Wigmore Hall in London, and Stoller Hall in Manchester, as well as major festivals such as Prague Spring Festival, Schwarzwald Musikfestival, Chamonix Vallée Classics Festival, and Gent Festival van Vlaanderen.

Tickets for this special performance at Siamsa Tíre, Tralee on 19 April at 8.00pm are available to book from Siamsa Tíre on 066 7123055 or online at www.siamsatire.com
