Launching the Down Syndrome Kerry Cycle were members of the Chain Gang Cycling Club with Adrian Boyle of Boyles of Ballyseedy, Grace O Donnell DSK, Siobhan Walsh, Operations Manager and Paddy Kevane, DSK.DOWN Syndrome Kerry is inviting cyclists from across Kerry and beyond to get on their bikes and take part in the Down Syndrome Kerry Charity Cycle – “Into the West”, taking place on Saturday, October 3.
The event, organised by Down Syndrome Kerry with the support of The Chain Gang Cycling Club Tralee, will see participants take on the scenic 75km Lacey Cup Circuit, beginning and finishing at Boyles of Ballyseedy, Tralee.
Registration will open at 8.30am, with the cycle getting underway at 9.00am. The route promises a challenging but hugely enjoyable day in the saddle, taking cyclists through some of the beautiful countryside of west Kerry.

The route will include climbs at Gleann na nGealt and Slíabh Mish Mountain, and journeying through Tralee, Camp, Annascual and finishing in Boyles of Ballyseedy.
“‘Into the West’ is about much more than a cycle — it’s about community, inclusion and people coming together with a shared purpose,” said Siobhan Walsh, Operations Manager with DSK.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone taking part, to Boyles ,Ballyseedy, Tralee for their fabulous Venue, Tralee Chaingang Cycling Club and all volunteers supporting Down Syndrome Kerry.

The event is being held under the theme “Cycle for Inclusion – Brighter Tomorrows”, reflecting Down Syndrome Kerry’s commitment to creating greater opportunities, inclusion and brighter futures for people with Down syndrome throughout the county.
The cycle will also provide an opportunity for participants to enjoy a day of community, friendship and inclusion, with refreshments and entertainment available for cyclists afterwards.
Registration is €30 and the event is open to participants aged 18 and over.
