DOWN Syndrome Kerry is appealing to participants in the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle  to choose the organisation as their charity partner and help make a lasting difference in the lives of children, teenagers, and adults with Down syndrome across the county.

With the rallying call “Pedal with a Purpose – Cycle for Our Future,” Down Syndrome Kerry is encouraging cyclists taking part in the iconic event to turn every kilometre into meaningful support for local families.

Funds raised through the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle play a vital role in enabling Down Syndrome Kerry to provide essential services, programmes, and supports that empower members to reach their full potential and lead fulfilling lives.

“The Ring of Kerry Cycle is hugely important for Down Syndrome Kerry it has been a huge help in expanding our services,” said John O Connor, Chairperson DSK.

“Through the assistance of The Ring of Kerry Cycle, we have been able to provide vital speech and language therapy to our members close to home in Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Dingle and Cahersiveen. Their support also helps us provide greater employment training and opportunities for our members. If you haven’t already signed up for Down syndrome Kerry for this year’s Ring of Kerry Cycle do so and help us provide our members and their families with the support, they need for a better life.”

Demand for services continues to grow, and fundraising remains essential to ensuring the organisation can maintain and expand its programmes.

As a voluntary organisation, Down Syndrome Kerry relies heavily on community support to fund many of its activities and initiatives.

The charity is calling on cyclists, supporters, local businesses, and the wider community to get behind the campaign and help secure a brighter future for its members.
“Down Syndrome Kerry have a long association with The Ring of Kerry Cycle, going back nearly 30 years,” said  Denis Cronin, parent and committee member of DSK.

“It’s always a fabulous day out, organisation is first class, food stops & volunteers are fantastic, but from a cyclist viewpoint, most importantly, all money raised, goes to charity.”
