KERRY Sports Academy at the Munster Technological University Kerry Campus is running a Teen Gym Programme this summer.
The programme now in its 3rd year is specifically designed for young people aged 14 to 16 years who want to develop their fitness, confidence and understanding of safe exercise in a supportive and supervised environment.
The programme aims to introduce teenagers to strength and conditioning, cardiovascular fitness, movement skills and healthy lifestyle habits while providing coaching and guidance from qualified fitness professionals.
Participants will learn how to use gym equipment safely and effectively, develop personalised fitness goals, and gain valuable knowledge about exercise technique, injury prevention and overall wellbeing.
The programme has been carefully structured to help young people build confidence in the gym while encouraging lifelong participation in physical activity.
“We are excited to provide teenagers with an opportunity to learn, train and develop in a safe and welcoming environment,” said Hazel Byrne Manager at Kerry Sports Academy. “The Teen Gym Programme is about more than fitness – it’s about helping young people build healthy habits, improve self-confidence and enjoy being active.”
The programme is suitable for all fitness levels, whether participants are involved in sport, looking to improve their general fitness, or simply interested in learning more about gym training.
The Teen Gym Programme will take place at the state-of-the-art facilities of Kerry Sports Academy at MTU, providing participants with access to a wide range of gym equipment and supervision.
