Inland Fisheries Ireland, the state agency responsible for the protection, conservation, development and promotion of inland fisheries and sea angling, has launched a recruitment drive to hire forty-nine new Seasonal Fisheries Officers. Working as part of River Basin District teams across the country, Protection Fisheries Officers enforce legislation by carrying out patrols by foot, bike, vehicle and boat. Development Fisheries Officers build and maintain angling infrastructure, carry out in-stream works and help with research surveys. Recruitment for the six month posts gets underway immediately through www.fisheriesireland.ie/careers/ and the deadline to apply is Monday, February 21st.
