STUDENTS of Master Don Dalton’s Tralee Taekwondo Club will be aiming for gold when they travel to the 2016 Open European Championships, which is being held in Budapest, Hungary from February 3-7.
The students will also participate in the International Instructor and Referee Course, which runs from February 8-9.
This will be a historical Championships and International Instructors Course, which sees a return to the host city of the 19th ITF World Championship.
The IIC will cover such areas as Self Defence- ground fighting, sparring strategy, sine wave and five motions explanation/practice, public speaking, etc.
It will be instructed by some of the world’s most famous Masters and will be a must for any instructors or aspiring instructors.
There will be a Dan testing on Wednesday, February 10, under a panel of Masters (8th and 9th Dan).
Mr. Jason Moriarty, who is a member of the Tralee club and teaches in Killarney, will be testing for the 7th Degree Master Level. He has been a student of Master Dalton for more than 30 years.
With many countries currently living in difficult economic times, the goal is to provide a world class event which will be affordable and fair to all competitors. There is also an aim to have a global Taekwondo Family.
