ST.BRENDAN’S PARK FC GROUNDS DEVELOPMENT DRAW IN ASSOCIATION WITH BYRNE’S SPAR (CAHERSLEE, MONAVALLEY & OAKPARK, TRALEE) AND EIR SPORT ;
2017 promises to be a big year for the Club. On the pitch, our player development programme from the ever successful Academy right up to Youth level continues to flourish. The Club is continually growing & the Management Committee recognises the urgent requirement to improve facilities for players, coaches, parents/guardians and everyone associated with St.Brendan’s Park Football Club.
Over the next few weeks & months, you will see various developments taking place on the Clubs grounds.
The perimeter wall will be finally completed, our playing pitches are being upgraded along with improvements being made to our grass warm up area. Perhaps, most important of all, will be the construction of a new Clubhouse (on the site of the existing shop). This building will accommodate a shop/coffee & meeting area for people to relax (& take shelter!) on those wet & windy days.
In order to help raise funds towards the heavy costs that the Club will incur, in association with Byrne’s Spar (Caherslee, Monavalley & Oakpark) and Eir Sport, we are running a Grounds Development Fundraising Draw.
Prizes will include 3 Premium Level tickets plus €100 diesel vouchers to help with transport costs, to one of Irelands upcoming matches at the Aviva Stadium in 2017. We have prizes for all of Ireland’s matches. First up is the already sold-out crucial fixture versus Wales on 24th March next.
Other prizes will include 12 month free subscriptions to Eir Sport (including BT Sport channels). We are also very grateful to Irish Olympic Boxing Medallist, Michael Conlan, who is kindly donating a signed pair of his Boxing Boots, ahead of his Professional debut at Madison Square Garden on St. Patrick’s Day!
We are kindly asking for your support. Tickets are €5 each or 3 for €10. Each player within the club will receive 3 tickets. If anyone would like to support the Club further by purchasing more tickets, they will be available at the existing Club Shop or through the various coaches.
Please note that prizes won are strictly NOT for further resale.
Once again, thank you all for your continued support.

REPORTS ;
(U13) SFAI Regional Cup Semi-Final; Park Fc 4-0 Charleville Afc
Cometh the hour cometh the man! Ten minutes to go and Charleville were digging deep. Defending for their lives and looking like they would take the game to extra time or even sneak a goal to win it, Charleville will probably be wondering today how Park won by four.
The man that stood up when his side needed something special was their captain Kieran O’Connor. A magnificent strike from thirty yards out flew past the unfortunate Charleville keeper to give Park the lead and finally break the resistance of the young Cork men.
Thereafter the game opened up and fine finishing from Adam Wharton and Cianan Cooney ensured the Park advanced to the Regional Final where they will play Aisling Annacotty at home on 25th March.
The game had a hectic start when Messiah Chirwah was fouled in the box and Park were awarded a first minute penalty. However, in pretty poor conditions, the Charleville keeper produced a fine save to deny Park the perfect start.
The first half was almost all about the battle between the young Cork custodian and a variety of Park attackers. Shot after shot was repelled and chance after chance went a begging. Indeed Charleville had one very good chance to take the lead late in the first half but Liam Carmody and a brilliant last ditch tackle from Josh Connolly denied them.
The second half was pretty much similar. Excellent defending from both sides kept the score line level and with courageous tackling and great sportsmanship being shown by both teams it was obvious it would take something a bit different to break the deadlock.
Then the man stood up and his trusty troops followed him through to seal the win. Another fine panel effort.
Thanks to all our supporters, club officials and our magnificent parents and players for their efforts on the day. A special thank you to Charleville AFC. Your young team were excellent ambassadors for the club on and off the pitch. We wish you all the best for the rest of the season.
Panel: Liam Carmody, Samuel Aledasanusi, Ben Hanafin, Sean Hill, Jack Kearney, Sean O’Connell, Kieran O’Connor, Danny Jeffers, Conor Kerins, Sean O’Connor, David Feeley, Josh Connolly, Adam Wharton, Cianan Cooney, Colin Doody, Messiah Chirwah.
