KERRY Macra took the opportunity to celebrate a milestone for the organisation last night, with 250 of their past and present members, the local community and those from further afield, gathering in Ballygarry House Hotel.
Macra na Feirme as a rural youth organisation celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. And while its birthplace was Athy in Co Kildare, it wasn’t long before a branch was formed here in Kerry.
Guests enjoyed a three course meal, live music from Uí Bhriain Band and a DJ until late on a great night for the local branch.

Kerry Macra Chair, Sean Joy, said: “Over the past seventy-five years, Macra na Feirme has worked to develop, support, and give a voice to the youth of rural Ireland, helping them to respond to massive societal changes and challenges.
“75 years for any organisation is an incredible achievement and this presented the perfect opportunity for a reunion of old and new friends, joining together in their appreciation of the county, its contribution to the community and its continued success in the future.” Scroll down for photos…
