One Road To Kenmare Reopens Friday, But Another Closes On Monday

KERRY County Council anticipates that the R569 road at Loo Bridge on the road to Kenmare will re-open to traffic on this Friday, after extensive structural repair

Since the road partially collapsed on Sunday, February 9, Council staff and contractors have been working in difficult weather conditions to ensure the repairs were completed as quickly as possible.

Kerry County Council would like to acknowledge the patience and cooperation of the public while the repair works took place. Meanwhile, Kerry County Council is to commence repair works on the N71 Moll’s Gap Road on Monday next, March 2 at 7.00am.

The works – which were postponed pending the completion of repairs on the R569 – involve essential repairs to a section of a partially collapsed wall between Dinis Cottage and Moll’s Gap.

Part of the road from Killarney to Kenmare to close next Monday for two weeks.

To facilitate the works, the road will be fully closed to traffic until Monday, March 16, 2020. Diversions will be in place via the N22/R569 road and will be clearly signposted.
