Having fun at the St Pats GAA Club Family Fun Day on Sunday. Photo by Dermot Crean

Family Fun Day

St Pats GAA and Healthy Club enjoyed a family fun day and return of the obstacle course racing on Sunday 22nd September. Thanks to a great team effort the facilities were at their best and the weather just about held up for a really successful day. This year the addition of FOXY VS SPIDER-MAN racing the obstacles was a fun start to the day. All age groups from U7 right up to our adult team relay race enjoyed the competitive fun! There was fantastic athleticism and team work on display! All winners in each age group were rewarded with prizes of bags and footballs.
Kids and adults enjoyed the return of the slow bicycle race. yet again John Vahey and Olivia Lynch proved to have the best balance and took home the prizes.
This year we welcomed the addition of Kenny the Clown who added to the fun along with free play and racing for the youngsters. As usual the kids enjoyed the target kicking/ tug of war and their chance to soak their coaches with the wet sponge throwing to finish.
Thanks so much to all families for providing baking / lunch and treats to keep us all well fed. We had fantastic support and volunteering from those setting up, stewarding, supervising, catering, selling tickets/ competitions guesses/ photography/ PR and importantly a great crew to clean up and complete a really successful club event. Thanks so much for the fantastic donations of prizes and spot prizes and don’t forget you still have a chance to win the club lotto! Check out our St Pats GAA social pages for loads of great photos of the day. WELL, DONE ST PATS!

U9 Boys

An end of season bus trip for our U9’s as they headed out to Milltown to play in their final blitz of the year. All our boys got to play four games, and all had great fun. Other teams involved were Kerins O’Rahillys GAA Club Listry GAA and the hosts themselves. A big thanks to Gary and all at Milltown/Castlemaine GAA Club for a well organised blitz and the goodie bags went down a treat at the end.

U10 Girls

Well done to everyone who was able to make it to the blitz in Castleisland Desmonds on last Saturday morning. We had three tough games against very good opposition and credit to the girls, they were all outstanding, taking some brilliant scores and showing great team work again, the coaches are very proud of you all.

U13 Girls

Our U13 girls are playing in their Club Championship Semi-Final on Thursday Night 26th of September at 6.16pm in Blennerville against Miltown/Castlemaine.

U13 Boys

The U13s played in the Jimmy Roche Memorial blitz on Saturday. We fielded two teams and played three games, with each team playing a half each per game. We played Firies A and B in our first two games. Firies play in Div 1 of the County League, and they played at a level our lads didn’t expect in the first half of the first game. But our men in Red and White are resilient, adaptable, and regrouped to play superb football.

We played Cordal in our final game but had put so much into our previous two games that we failed to muster much steam. Well done to Ivan, Omar and Loukmann who played their first games for St Pats. Great experience against good opposition which will stand to us. Excellent turnout and behaviour from the lads. Well done to the lads who committed to the day after a long season.

St Brendan’s Board

St Brendan’s Board played St Kieran’s last Saturday evening and came away with a win they are now into the Quarter Final draw with Templenoe, East Kerry and Dr. Crokes.

Senior B’s

Our seniors travelled to Moyvane last Saturday evening, the home team started the game with two points with a reply coming from Joe Costello. Another point from opposition, with Ian McCarthy and James Friel adding scores for St Pats.

Three more points coming from Moyvane kept their lead. A great hand pass from Dylan Griffin onto Evan McCarthy allowed St Pats to register another score with Cormac Lynch adding one final score. Half Time St Pats 0-05 Moyvane 0-06

Five unanswered points from Moyvane stretch their lead, Conor Burke for St Pats added a superb goal halfway through the second half. St Pats were unable to register anymore scores after this with tough opposition from Moyvane they added another five points. This game was another chance for our seniors to progress unfortunately it wasn’t to be. Full Time St Pats 1-05 Moyvane 0-16

Special Mention to the goalkeeper of the day Eoin Sayers, it was a difficult task this game but with flawless effort Eoin made many great saves when Moyvane pushed up onto our goals. With the ball shot straight at him at one stage he managed to divert it over the bar rather than in the back of the net. Great effort by all the team but our goalkeeper certainly stood out in this match.

St Pats Team: Eoin Sayers, Cathal Fitzgibbon, Conor Moore, Mike Doody, Dylan Griffin, Darragh Moriarty, Ciaran McEnaney, David Moriarty, Ian McCarthy, Cormac Lynch, James Friel, Jack Lynch, Shane Foley, Joe Costello, Evan McCarthy.
