IT has been announced that one of Ireland’s top comedians David O’Doherty will be playing a show in Siamsa Tire on Saturday, March 21.
The Dubliner billed as the “the forgotten Sugababe” and “the bad boy of Zumba” will bring his peculiar world whimsy to a Tralee audience with a new hour long show.
A former winner of the prestigious, Edinburgh Comedy Festival Perrier Award for best comic, he is also regular on UK panel shows, QI, 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
O’Doherty is noted for combining his comedic performance with tunes played on a miniature electronic keyboard he has had since childhood.
In 2007, O’Doherty, realised a song about his girlfriend’s infatuation with self tanner called ‘Orange’. It reached 30 on the Irish single’s charts.
