Fantastic Children’s Events Planned For Tír Na nÓg Festival

Easter Kids Fun Run 1
Proprietor of the Meadowlands Hotel, Peigi O Mathuna, met the Easter Bunny at the launch of the Meadowlands Hotel Easter Kids Fancy Dress Fun Run which will take place on Easter Saturday 4th April in Tralee Town Park. It’s one of the many events scheduled for the Tir na nOg Children’s Festival in Tralee during the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend.

CHILDREN in Kerry can look forward to an amazing line-up of entertainment for the annual Tír Na nÓg Festival at Easter.

It’s one of the main events that will be staged during the The festival take place this Easter Bank Holiday Weekend from Friday April 3 to Monday April 6.

One of the highlights will be the Meadowlands Hotel Easter Fancy Dress Fun Run which will take place on Easter Saturday, April 4.

The event will see Tralee Town Park explode with superheroes, princesses, fairies and other well-known characters.

The Tír na nÓg Children’s Festival will feature Egg Hunts, Teddy Bear Picnics, Easter-themed Camps, Bug Hunts while kids in Tralee have already reported early sightings of the Easter Bunny.

The President of Tralee Chamber Alliance, Pádraig McGillicuddy, said: “The Tír na nÓg Children’s Festival has been a major event on the festivals calendar in Kerry since 2010. It provides an income boost for the town’s accommodation providers, tourist attractions and other businesses ahead of the main summer tourist season. The Festival is supported by Tralee Chamber Alliance and Kerry County Council who are encouraging everyone who lives in Tralee to invite family and friends to join them in Tralee any one of the events the Tír an nÓg Festival this Easter.”

The Meadowlands Hotel Fancy Dress Fun Run in Tralee Town Park for kids under 12 will take place on Easter Saturday with registration beginning at 1pm and everyone who takes part will receive an Easter Egg and Certificate from Tralee Outlook Magazine.

The event will feature a pre-Fun Run warm-up led by Linda Flanagan from Zumba Kerry, face-painting, outdoor disco and guest appearances by Elsa, Anna and Olaf from Disney’s Frozen.

Tickets are only €5 per child (Adults are free), adult supervision is required especially with younger children.

Pre-booking is essential to avoid disappointment and Registration Forms which are available from Tralee Chamber Alliance, 18 Denny Street, Tralee and from The Meadowlands Hotel, Listowel Road, Tralee, must be returned by Wednesday 1st April.

A number of children from the Oliver Hurley School of Musical Theatre will take part in the Tralee St Patrick’s Day Parade under the banner of the Tír na nÓg Children’s Festival.
