U-10s
Our U-10 panel, along with some of our U-8s and U-11s were invited by Austin Stacks to Connolly Park last Sunday to participate in the inaugural John Lynch Invitational Memorial Blitz.
Also participating were Kilmacud Crokes from Dublin, Ballymac and the home team, Austin Stacks. Each club fielded 3 teams of 10 and played each of the other teams, with 6 games all taking place at any one time.
The total scores were then added up to determine the placings. The Churchill boys did themselves proud as each of the 3 teams held their own against very strong Crokes teams with one of ours teams unlucky not to win, having conceded 2 late goals.
All of our teams recorded at least one win each, with victories over Stacks and Ballymac along the way. At the end of a very enjoyable and well organised tournament, all our boys were presented with medals and our captain Paddy Falvey was presented with the Plate, as we finished third of the four teams with overall victory going to Kilmacud Crokes.
This was a wonderful culmination of the football year and showed that our teams have the skills and determination to compete with even the strongest clubs in Dublin. Well done to you all and remember to keep practicing during the winter.
