COSITE NA NOG

FAOI 14: CASTLEISLAND 2-14 MID KERRY 3-10. Castleisland District just edged out Mid Kerry in this thrilling county u 14 district final played in Fitzgerald Stadium last Wednesday evening. Making plenty of use of the long ball Castleisland were 7 points to no score ahead after ten minutes. Mid Kerry upped their game from then on and were only a point (0-10 to 1-6) behind at half time.

There was little between the sides in the second half, Mid Kerry pressing forward, the Castleisland defence, with Josh O’Keeffe in fine form, holding firm.

Ten minutes in there was still only a point in it 0-13 to 2-6. Daire Keane was then brought on and with his first touch sent in a high ball which deceived the goalie and finished up in the net.

Mid way through the half it was level again 2-10 to1-13. Even though Castleisland missed a few easy chances they did just enough to be a point up at the finish .Congratulations to all the Ballymac members of the Castleisland panel, Josh O’Keeffe, Brian Lonergan, Daire Keane, Tadhg Brick and Cillian Gallagher on a great victory.

FAOI 12

Co. League Division 3 Mitchels 2-8 Ballymac 5 – 16 . Mitchels 0-8 Ballymac 5 – 17. Played at Mitchels new field on a fine evening for football our hosts were no match for the Ballymac boys in both games. Despite missing numbers Mitchels tried hard however, our lads were dominant in every position and had the results of these games in no doubt by half time. We were in a position to rotate the players from their usual births and allowed them to test themselves. Bigger challenges await as the teams go in search of the Division 3 titles.
ACADEMY

There was a fantastic effort made on Sunday morning by both the players and mentors. A big thank you once again to all the mentors, trainers and shop keepers for giving up their time every weekend.

It is much appreciated. The girls were out in force with Rachel Griffin, Ciara Sharpe, Laura Sugrue and Emma Leen showing some great technique. Their progress is clear for all to see every week. Our Under 8 girls excelled against Abbeydorney recently with Rachel Creedon, Sileoonagh Mansfield, Rose and Alice Brosnan and Maggie Scanlon impressing .

The U6 boys were also impressive this week in particular Daniel Moriarty, Fionn Enright, Brian Kelly, Liam Brennan, Jack Lynch and Ryan Burke. Lee Wharton, Cian Harris, Cathal White and Jack Joy were on top form for the U8 boys.

U10 boys: Our under 10 boys continue to improve with every session with Adam Wharton, Mossie Brennan, Jared O Brien, Sean Rice, Aidan Horgan and Niall Collins showing good skills.
