Lotto

There was no winner of our Club Lotto Jackpot on Sunday night last. The numbers drawn were 06, 07, 16 & 27. The five €30 consolation prizes went to Tom Reidy c/o E McCarthy, Anne O Shea Daly Tonevane, Mag Foley Spa Road, Patricia Ryan Derrymore East and Elsie Healy c/o Tony Casey. Next week’s Lotto will have a Jackpot of €2,500 and the draw will take place this Sunday night Sept 25th in Keane’s Bar. Lotto tickets are available from the usual outlets or any Club officer.

Juvenile Academy

U6’s: Thanks again to Blennerville National School for allowing our youngsters train in their sports hall last Sunday. Well done to Sarah Fitzgerald, Bruce McMillan, Sam Smith and Cian O’ Halloran who put in a great training session last Sunday morning but a huge well done to Ruby Foley who received our player of the week trophy by showing great skill and determination. Keep up the good work.

U8’s: The under 8’s showed real dedication when turning up for the academy session in very wet conditions last Sunday, well done to all. Despite the rain everyone got fully involved proving that rain won’t stop the effort to improve on their skills. Caoileann and Rodhan Culloo showed how their kicking has improved by kicking some great scores during the practice game.

The under 8’s and under 10’s combined for the practice games and so we awarded played of the week trophies to Alishia Kelliher and Orlaith Murphy.

U10’s: The St. Pats under 10’s Boys & Girls were in academy action last Sunday. We had a great turnout despite the weather. Everyone put in a great effort during the session with Fionn Dairo, Daniel Sheehy, Killian O’Mahony and Thomas Sheehy giving it their all during the session.  Congratulations to Orlaith Murphy on winning footballer of the week trophy. It is important that ye all keep practicing yer skills at home during the week. There is no academy this week due to St Pats family fun day hope to see ye all there.  Naomh Padraig Abu…..

Senior Team

Our St Brendans Senior Football Championship semi-final match against Churchill last Saturday did not take place as our opponents couldn’t field a team. However, we await the winners between Ardfert and Na Gaeil in the final. Details of the final to be announced at a later date.

Ladies Team

The new ladies team has started up under the management of Denis Healy. New members are welcome. Contact Helen Tansley on 0877631977 for more details.

All Ireland Minor Champions

Congratulations to Kieran Dwyer and the entire Kerry minor team on winning a historic 3-in-a-row. No doubt we will be seeing some of them grace the GAA Headquarters again in the not too distant future.

Family Funday and Memorial Walk

Our annual Family fun day and memorial walk which was due to have taken place a couple of weeks ago will now be held this Sunday, the 25th of September, weather permitting. The walk, which will start at 12 noonwill begin at the club grounds around the environs and return to the field where there will be refreshments and fungames for the family. All proceeds raised on the day will go towards the Palliative Care Unit/Kerry Hospice.

Book Launch

Martin Moore who operates his accountancy practice from offices in the village and was also involved with the book production for Blennerville NS will launch his new book titled ‘The Call to Arms’ in Ballygarry House Hotel on Friday 23rd September at 7:30pm.. The book recounts the story of Tom McEllistrim and his role in the fight for Irish freedom and all are welcome to attend the launch.

Thomas Ashe Centenary Commemoration

The School of History, University College Cork, in association with Coiste Cuimhneacháin Thomáis Ághas, are pleased to announce a public meeting to discuss arrangements for the forthcoming centenary of the death of the prominent Kerry patriot, Thomas Ashe, to be held in his native village of Lispole, county Kerry, at 4pm on the afternoon of Sunday 25th September.

The public meeting is being held in Scoil Náisiunta Eoin Baiste, Lios Póil, on the 99th anniversary of his death, and its purpose is to solicit the views of interested parties in the locality, in county Kerry, and beyond, as to the form that next year’s centenary commemoration should take.

Camp Drama Group

Camp Drama Group presents the hilarious comedy “Wheres the Missus” [written by Val Sweeney] in Castlegregory on Friday 30th September @ 8 PM.

The Group have aready performed this Play to packed houses in Camp over 7 nights during May & July this year.
