MICHAEL Fassbender will be in Killarney tonight to receive a very special honour from his hometown.

The man from Fossa will receive the honour of the Order of Innisfallen at a special ceremony at Muckross House, Killarney, followed by a Gala Black-tie evening in the Europe Hotel and Resort, not far from where he grew up in Fossa.

His parents Josef and Adele still live in the family home in Fossa, after coming to Ireland from Germany in 1979, two years after Michael was born in Heidelberg.
