THERE were 530 certificates issued by Kerry ETB Training Centre for Spring 2017 and many students were in the Rose Hotel for a presentation of Certificates Ceremony on Thursday night.
Awards were presented on the evening for 26 different courses completed, both as full time day courses and part time evening course delivery.
Certificates were presented in the following courses: Fibre Installation, Wind Turbine Maintenance, Overhead Lines Operative, Nail Technology, Hairdressing, Healthcare, Business Administration, Payroll and Accounts, Supervisory Management, Customer Service, Child Development, ICT, CAD, Radio Production, Food Preparation and Culinary, Outdoor Activity Instructor, Milling, Turning, Welding, Marketing, Security.
Recipients of the Kerry ETB Training Centre Achievement Awards were:-
• Mr Gavin Lyne – Motor Mechanics Apprenticeship course: In recognition of winning first place in the Ireland Skills National Competition in Motor Mechanics (employed by Ahern’s Garage, Castleisland)
• Ms Gráinne McPolin – Radio Broadcasting course : In recognition of being awarded 2016 Clarion International Radio award for her documentary “Saudi Dreams of a Camper Van”.
• Mr Seamus May – Stonecutting Apprenticeship course: In recognition of his winning of first prize in “Emerging Maker” category in the RDS Crafts Awards in 2017 (Employed by the Office of Public Works)
