THE Kerry Rose, Breda O’Mahony, visited Tamarind Asian Restaurant, last week to announce that they will welcome all 64 Roses for dinner to celebrate the restaurant’s 12th birthday on Wednesday, August 16.
The owners of Tamarind Restaurant on Matt Talbot Road, Andrew Ong and his wife Angeline, are looking forward to welcoming this year’s Roses, especially the first Hong Kong Rose, for dinner on the first day of this year’s Rose of Tralee Festival.

Andrew Ong, who has worked in a number of restaurants in Mayo, Galway and Dublin, said: “We are truly honoured that the Roses will celebrate our 12th birthday with us next week. Just like our regular customers, from the minute they sit down, the Roses will quickly realise that Tamarind is different.”
Tamarind, which opened in June 2005, is fully booked out for that night but Andrew and Angeline have extended an open invitation to everyone to come down and meet the Roses at the front of the restaurant on Wednesday 16th August around 6pm.
