IT’S a time to celebrate our culture and the pupils of Derryquay NS didn’t disappoint on Friday.
They held a Céilí Mór to also coincide with Seachtain na Gaeilge and it was a hugely enjoyable afternoon for all.
“The children have been practising their tunes on tin whistle and fiddle and accordion, learning the dances and rehearsing the drama,” said Principal Siobhan Uí Dhonaill.

“They have found their voices and memorised the words, followed the steps and perfected their moves, so they were ready for the big day,” she added.
Parents, grandparents and friends joined them to enjoy the music and dancing and appreciate the passing on of traditions.
“We are delighted that our community joins us in our celebrations and contributes so much to the education of the children,” said Siobhan.
