U10 and U12 players at awards afternoon

NORTH KERRY HURLING BOARD AWARDS : The North Kerry Hurling Board awards took place last Friday night in Ballyroe Heights Hotel where our 3 award winners were presented with their Player of the Match awards.

Jack Hannon was presented with the award for his performance in the tremendously exciting U14 ‘B’ C’Ship Final, where he manned the centre half back position with authority and showed great leadership and skill throughout the game against St. Brendans.

When the pressure was most in the final minutes, he caught several vital balls in the air. Well Done Jack. For the second year in a row, Oisin Maunsell took the Tom Healy Player of the Tournament award.

Darragh with Coaches

Throughout the tournament, Oisin showed skill, teamwork, leadership and sportsmanship. Congratulations Oisin. Jack Parker is a player who has grown in stature throughout the year and when Abbeydorney were under pressure in the 2nd half in the Minor A C’Ship final, Jack was the player who held them together. His fielding and distribution of the sliotar was superb making him a worthy recipient of the Player of the Match award. Well Done Jack.

Special guest was Darragh O’Connell, former Abbeydorney hurler, who presented the players with their medals.

LAST MAN STANDING : After both players went through in Week 11, our 2 remaining players Laura O’Connell and Tommy O’Neill have decided to split the pot, each taking €250 in Prize Money. Well Done to both players and thanks once again to all who supported the competition.
