Barrow House is set back 200yds from its entrance gates to the road and is approached along a private sea wall drive to the walled courtyard.
The house itself lies within the shelter of the hillside on the road which leads to the headland and the golf course with its unparalleled views toward Fenit Island, the Slieve Mish mountains and the strand at Banna beach.
The main house was built around 1800 with evidence that previous dwellings were at this location, it was built by the Collis family and then passed the McCowans, it has passed through a number of owners since then.
The house went to auction at The Imperial Hotel in Cork back in March 2016 and a bid of €340,000 was accepted. However, the sale subsequently didn’t come to pass.
There are open viewings of the house every Thursday from 2pm-3pm. For more details, contact DNG WH Giles in Tralee on 066-7121073. To see more photos and details of the house, click here
