Who Will Don The Green Jacket And Be The Master Of Castlegregory GC?

GOLFERS will get their chance to win a Masters competition and their own Green Jacket in June when Castlegregory Golf Club host their own version of the famous Augusta competition.

The club hosts the Castlegregory Masters on the June Bank Holiday Weekend, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, June 4, 5 and 6.

It is a 54 hole strokeplay competition with half of the competitors qualifying for the final 18 holes on Monday.

It’s all part of initiatives by the club to generate interest in the sport and get golfers and casual golfers to support the competitions.

The overall Masters winner will be presented with a Green Jacket ala the Augusta tournament. The competition is open to gents and ladies and there will also be Category Nett Prizes. Entry fee is €50 for non members and €25 for members, which also includes a barbecue.

That’s not the only competition the club is holding in June. The Castlegregory Natterjack League – Evening Golf in June is a competition which will be run off during the month on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6.30-7.30pm.

Teams of 4 (panel of 6) will play a minimum of three rounds of golf with the top two teams qualifying for the final. The cost per team is €100 (limited to 16 teams).
