By Jerry Finnegan U15 (Captain)
On Thursday, the CBS The Green u15 rugby team travelled up to O’Dowd Park at Clahane to play against St.Munchins of Limerick in the semi-final of the tournament.
The Green started off well from a great try by Joe Linehan. He slotted the conversion in between the posts to make it 7-0.
Almost instantly St.Munchins hit back hard with a try but failed to score the conversion. Soon after again Joe Linehan broke the line to score his second try of the day.
During half time Caoimhin Finn and Mr. Shaun Johnson our school coach, gave an inspirational talk to drive the team forward.

At the start of the second half, Muhammad Raheem our winger, intercepted a pass from Munchin’s and ran the pitch and scored Tralee’s third try.
Joe scored his final conversion of the game, but after the kick-off St.Munchins came back very hard and came close to their second try. But a great steal by Jerry Finnegan in the ruck gave The Green back possesion.
Then Owen Healy kicked the ball out and the referee blew the final whistle with the final score of 21 to 15. We hope to have a restful Christmas, after wins at both U16 and U15 level this week, and look forward to a great 2017 with confidence.
