TWO Tralee RFC players are heading to Wales over the weekend as part of the Irish squad for a  friendly match in anticipation of this year’s Six Nations Championship.

The Ireland Women’s management team have named Tralee RFC players, Ciara Griffin and Zoe Grattage in the 26-woman squad to play against Wales this Sunday.

The squad also contains Tralee native, Ruth O’Reilly, who plays her rugby with Galwegians/Connacht.

The uncapped fixture, which will also have rolling subs, will take place this Sunday in the CCB Centre for Sporting Excellence in Caerphilly, South Wales.

The fixture will allow Ireland Women’s head coach Tom Tierney a chance to have a final look at the two players before he names his Six Nations squad.

So this could be potentially a make or break weekend for both Ciara and Zoe to make onto the squad of the defending Six Nations champs.

The Six Nations gets underway with a match against Wales on Saturday, February 6.
