A TRALEE councillor has asked that the Council look into the prospect of hosting the Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann towards the end of the decade.

Fianna Fáil Cllr Anne O’Sullivan has a motion before the November meeting of Tralee Municipal District Council that they undertake to propose, support and submit an application for the town as a venue for the All-Ireland event in 2028 and 2029.

Cllr O’Sullivan said the town has previously held the Fleadh Cheoil Chiarraí in 2022 and Munster Fleadh Cheoil in 2023 which were successful and beneficial to the town. She said the Fleadh Cheoil would showcase all the town has to offer and it would be great to host the event.
