THE 4th National Live Life Film Competition with the theme “Make Every Second Count” is now accepting entries and local Credit Unions have come on board as sponsors.
It is over three years now since young teenager Donal Walsh sadly lost his battle to cancer. The impact of his powerful positive message however continues to be spread nationally and internationally through the Live Life Foundation.
Mary Lucey, National Film Competition Coordinator stated; “This year the Live Life Foundation is delighted to welcome Chapter 23 – Kerry and Limerick Credit Unions on board who are sponsoring the prize money for the overall winning film from each category. The competition is very proud that the Credit Unions recognise the positive impact the competition has and can have on all ages,” she concluded.

The film competition has three categories: primary school, secondary school and third-level/adult.
An Awards Ceremony will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 in the Brandon Hotel Tralee where the top three ranked films in each category will be screened, prizes will be awarded and we all will celebrate living life to the full with some well-known TV and sports celebrities.
John Long, Chairman Chapter 23 Credit Unions stated; “The credit unions in Kerry and West Limerick are very happy to support the Live Life Foundation and the National Film Competition. We hope that the Live Life empowering message will resonate loudly with its target audience. Credit Unions have always been supportive of youth related activities and the financial support for this competition is a testament to this commitment,” he concluded.
The winning films will also be screened at the Dingle International Film Festival; Kerry Film Festival and First Cut! Film Festival in 2017 and Cork Film Festival 2017 so it is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring film-makers to get their work noticed within the film industry.
This year’s judging panel consists of 12 well-renowned TV and film industry personnel all giving up their time in aid of a good cause.
