GARDAI are appealing to vehicle owners to be vigilant after cases of theft and criminal damage over the past week.
There were two incidents in town when a drivers window was smashed and valuables taken from the vehicles in the Caherslee area overnight on Friday/Saturday, September 22/23.
Gardai are telling people not to leave valuables in the car, even if they are covered over by a rug or coat, as thieves see this as an invitation to commit a crime.
They are also asking people to report any cases of criminal damage to vehicles after an incident where a car door was ‘keyed’ in Tralee on Thursday last at 11am. Also, that same day in Ardfert, a car was spray-painted for no apparent reason.
