THE proceeds from an event in memory of a member of a local cycling club raised over €2,200 at Christmas.
The members of the Tralee Chain Gang Cycling Club took to the road on St Stephen’s Day for the fundraiser in memory of Nicky Fitzgerald.
Nicky was a hugely popular member of the club who passed away in October of 2018 after a battle with cancer and they hold the cycle every year in his memory.
This year it raised €2,200 and John Murray and Bernie O’Mahony presented the proceeds on Thursday to Maura Sullivan of Kerry Hospice who expressed their gratitude to the members of the club for their generosity.
